I am going to look at some studies when I get the chance but from recent experience I feel that I was just building  a massive sleep debt trying to fit in all my training.

From feelings of achievement to utter shock in the matter of minutes as I heard that a fellow runner/athlete had been receiving CPR on the course and finally to bewilderment when I found out that he had passed away, it wasn't his first half, he was a fit guy and was only 25!!!

I won't say I bounced out of bed but I was pretty eager to get going on my experimental breeze block (well it's twice the size of a brick) session. 

Things started off pretty well, I was at the pool early (for me )but lost all extra time once my additional kit had been organized. I've only got two days of the big week to go but at the moment I'm mulling over whether I should or shouldn't do my TT and long sets on Sunday.

The question is whether I am actually too tired or am I looking for a way out??

I have always thought this was going to be a hinderence especially on the run where weight is an issue (without the benefit of power as on the bike).The biggest hurdle for me has been managing calf injuries. I started my first batch of pre-season training last week with a Yoga session on Wednesday (1hr) followed by some dry land stretch band and tech work(1hr).
