Tandom Ride with Iain (sort of)

This year I have started working with Iain Dawson who is an ex Paralympic cyclist and is showing a massive amount of promise in Triathlon.

I have been up to Loughbrough with him on the selection day and had a few training sessions with him in the lake last year.

This was only the second 2010 bike session I had organized with him due to the recovery from my late 2009/early 2010 minor ops and although the plan was just to cycle and to mix it up with regard pace I was looking forward to having a good solid session for an hr or so.

Upon arrival at Iain's we readied the bike and looked to set off (I was still unsure how the ankle would behave since the opp) only to find out that Iain had managed to lock his house keys in the Garage and post the garage keys through the house door!

To cut a long story short, I spent about 4:30 hrs with Iain on Saturday, 30mins on the bike and the rest trying not to get cold and break into his house (which it turns out is quite difficult!) with no keys, car keys, phone, money or change of clothes.

A big thanks goes to the Kings Head who made us fried egg sandwiches and Lovells village store who let us use their phone.

About Me

My photo
As an ex-National League Basketball player I took up triathlon as a development from cross training. I won my first Sprint distance race and placed second in my first Olympic distance. Since then I have raced the UK Elite Superseries coming 24th in the National Elite Champs, raced Vegas 70.3 WChamps and helped Paratriathlete Iain Dawson to World, European and National Titles. In 2011 I obtained Pro authorisation from the BTF and am pushing my development by stepping up to top level competition in 2012. Aside from this I am a L1 Swim and Tri coach and Professional Lloyds Broker.
